Getting through the Red Tape!


Apply through www.pac.ie (EU students) or
through International Education Office for
Non-EU students Applications are signed off by
supervisor, Head of Department/School and are
then sent to Faculty/College for final approval
Once this happens the letter of approval is
sent out by the GSO. Check carefully and keep in
a safe place - subject - no. of years and start
date (Oct, Jan, Apr) - supervisor(s) - advisor
(in case of Science PhDs) - full-time/part-time
- thesis topic Once this happens you can
register and collect your st. card

Registration Requirements
  • PhD Students
  • Approved for a minimum of three/four years
    full-time, depending on the programme
  • Students must be registered and pay fees each
    year until submission
  • Masters Students
  • - approved for a minimum of 1-2 years full-time.
  • - students must pay a submission fee if they go
    outside this time

  • Dean of Graduate Studies working on policy
    issues on behalf of students
  • Organise events throughout the year for research
    students
  • Provide a listening ear!
