  • All support staff employees and substitutes
    clock in and out using the Kronos Time Clock
  • Employees clock in and out of work at a
  • central location at their job site (including
    when
  • they leave for lunch, if applicable)
  • The time clock will auto calculate your work
  • hours each week and will be electronically
  • transferred to Kyrenes payroll system
  • Employee is responsible for reconciling missing
  • time each week

New school based employees must voice register
with SubFinder before they can record an absence.

SubFinder Absence Reporting For School-Based
Staff
  • All absences must be reported even if a sub is
    not needed
  • All school-based personnel need to report their
    absences through SubFinder (not temporary
    employees)
  • Absences should be reported as soon as
    possible. If less than 1 hour before job start
    time, please contact Sub Coordinator, Kathleen
    Jett at (480) 783-4006
  • Only report your work hours. The system
    defaults to a full school day. If you are not a
    full time employee, specify your work hours.
  • Absences must comply with Meet and Confer.
    Restricted day absences must be approved in
    writing and in advance.
  • Support staff also must report absences through
    iVisions.

Mandatory Trainings
  • Federal and State laws require that school
    district employees be trained on topics related
    to their employment and on subjects related to
    working with students.  The Kyrene School
    District is pleased to offer this training online
    for you to access by computer.
  • Mandatory training modules (Child Abuse
    Reporting Sexual Harassment Blood Borne
    Pathogens Bullying Threat to an Educational
    Institution Worker Safety Homeless Children
    and Heat Advisory)
  • 5 to10 minutes to complete each module
  • Complete all trainings annually
  • Employee trainings accessed through iVisions

Leave of Absence
  • If absent more than five consecutive work days,
    regardless of whether or not you have accrued ACA
    or Vacation, you must contact HR regarding a
    Leave of Absence. If you have no ACA, you must
    complete a leave request so that you are not
    absent without leave.

Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA)
  • Federal law establishes minimum wage, child labor
    standards, overtime pay and record-keeping which
    requires the accurate recording of exact hours
    worked
  • Exempt and non-exempt (hourly) differences
  • Non-exempt employees are not allowed to donate
    their time
  • No overtime / no comp time currently in practice

    bank.

Support Staff Only Tuition Reimbursement and
Incentive Credits (for those employed by Kyrene
for at least 12 months and assigned to a
permanent position of at least 20 hours per week)
  • Tuition reimbursement up to 2,500 per year for
    approved classes
  • Incentive Credits (15 credits) per salary
    increase

BENEFIT ENROLLMENT PROCESS
  • Benefit Information Packets
  • Must log on to Employee iVisions Portal to enroll
  • Must complete online new hire enrollment within
    31 days of first day of work to have benefits
  • Medical Allowance 30 or more hours per week in
    eligible positions with medical plan election
  • No medical coverage chosen No Allowance
  • School site employees 20 benefit deductions, 12
    month employees 24 benefit deductions

  • ACA time is used until claim is approved for
    lost

  • Reduce air pollution and improve our quality of
    life by carpooling, vanpooling, taking the bus,
    riding your bike or walking!
  • Kyrene participates in the Maricopa County Trip
    Reduction Program (TRP).
  • Kyrene offers incentives!
  • A guaranteed ride home for any employee who
    uses an alternative mode to get to work in the
    event of illness, family emergency, or other
    unforeseen problems
  • Monthly prize drawings for new and continuing
    alternative mode users.
