Please send a snack with your child everyday. We
will eat snacks around 1015. Due to allergies,
no nuts, please.Please be sure that the
snacks you send are nutritious and do not require
a spoon.

Behavior
  • Each child is encouraged to have outstanding
    behavior and excellence in academics.
  • Great Green- Students will start here daily
  • 1nd Time (Orange) Verbal Warning/explanation of
    behavior
  • 2rd Time (Yellow) Miss 5 minutes of recess
  • 3th Time (Red) Miss 10 minutes/Phone Call Home
    or Note Home
  • 4th Time (Blue) No recess/Phone Call Home/Office
    Visit
  • Check your childs communication log daily for
    behavior notifications

  • Bear Bucks or class tickets are earned for good
    behavior. Students can save these to earn
    various prizes.
  • The children can trade them in for rewards each
    Friday.
  • Each class rewards in various ways!
  • Compliments from other teachers
  • Marble Jar/Brownie Points class reward

  • Each week, graded work will be sent home in the
    Daily Folder.
  • Important notes from the office and teacher will
    often be included with their work.
  • Behavior will be noted daily. No news is good
    news!
  • Please check your childs folder daily and return.

  • Our home reading program gives the children an
    opportunity to develop a true love of reading.
    We encourage students to read 10-15 minuets each
    night.
  • Each week your child will bring home 1-2 books
    from our literacy library.
  • These books should be read nightly as they take
    just a few minutes to read.
  • Books must be returned weekly. They are
    considered part of our curriculum and there will
    be a small fee if they are lost or not returned.

  • Our units range from 5 to 17 days depending on
    the skill being taught.
  • Assessments will be given at the end of each unit.
  • Homework is important because it is a valuable
    aide in helping students make the most of their
    experience in school.
  • Homework will always cover what is taught in
    class.
  • Homework may not be daily, but when it is given
    will be due the following day.
  • Homework is recorded as a completion check.

Standards Based Report Cards
  • Students will receive marks that show if they
    have mastered a set of ageappropriate skills and
    where they need to improve.
  • This will be denoted with the score of a 4, 3,
    2, or 1.
