Connecting your hardware

• Connect your Projector to the computer.
• Plug the USB cable to the SMART Board and to the
  computer (is the same as some printers).
• Set the computer for projection if needed. For
  laptops press twice the same option to show
  videos (the options depend on each brand).

Orienting your SMART Board

• Click the two buttons on the SMART Board tray at
  the same time.
• Press the screen on every point indicated (where
  you lift the marker is the important point).
• If you miss the yellow point click one of the
  buttons on the tray to return.
• Tip It is easier and faster to move the
  projector, or the board, to the approximate
  location it was (before being moved) than to
  align it every time.

A big mouse or a writing board?

• The SMART Board can be used as an electronic
  writing board or as a mouse.
• Which function you are using depends on whether
  you have all the markers and the eraser in their
  places or not
• Lift at least one of them and you have a writing
  board.
• Put all of them back and you have a mouse.

When the SMART Board is a big mouse

• It is easy to understand the SMART Board when all
  the markers are in place if you think that it is
  just a mouse, a BIG MOUSE, and the projection
  your monitor.
• Almost, or all, the actions that you can perform
  with a mouse you can also perform with a SMART
  Board .
• You also have different keyboards and the right
  click.

When the SMART Board is a writing board

• Lift one marker (or the eraser) and you can write
  over the image you are projecting (It does not
  matter which application you are using).
• If you put all markers (and the eraser) back on
  place you will lose what you wrote, except if you
  are working in the notebook application.
• In case of need you can save your screen you can
  copy it as part of a notebook file.

Notebook Software

• It helps to design and to create interactive
  applications before hand.
• It is very easy to use (User friendly).
• Allows you to copy, import, export or paste from
  other applications.

Using other software

• The SMART Board technology is compatible with
  most Microsoft office applications.
• It can be used with videos and presentations but
  sometimes you will have to use the computer
  keyboard or mouse instead of the SMART Board .
