22Institute Goals and Objectives
Work Better as a Team Staff / Volunteers /
Members To Make AIAA Better Work Better with
Other Institutes To Cover More Professions
within Aerospace To Expand Our Reach to Other
Technologies Work Better with Our Organizations
(Government, Industry, and Academia) To Increase
Our Value to Our Members To Increase the Value
of Our Members to Aerospace
23TACs Role in AIAA Goals and Objectives
Work Better as a Team Staff / Volunteers /
Members Staff will be more visible at TAC
meetings Staff will be part of our telecons and
meetings between general meetings Staff will
include representatives from every facet of AIAA
TAC, Business, International, HA, Public
Policy, and Exec Dir. Work Better with Other
Institutes Working Liaisons with IEEE/AESS and
NCO/NCOIC Currently Are there others we should
seek? IEEE and AIAA are considering cosponsoring
an MRO or ALPA Conference Should we? Can we
support it? East Coast 2006 Work Better with
Our Organizations (Government, Industry, and
Academia) Ask Tcs To Provide Survey Papers On
Technical Subjects Of Their Choosing Make
Absolutely Sure That The Conferences We Provide
Are Giving Solid Technical Data And
Information To Our Constituents And Make Sure We
Are Informing Attendees Of The Broader Efforts Of
Aerospace Community
24Personal Goals and Objectives
Improving the Quality of Our Conferences Thank
you I have seen the efforts and the
benefits Better overviews, better sessions Not
all gravy JPC hotel pull out means we need
greater stature for our venues The fact that
the conference was completed without major
hitch was due to staff and volunteers working
together Vision for AIAA DVD in Work
Estimated Completion Date - 1 November
2005 Script complete Filming nearing
completion Seeking sounds to complete project
Reorganizing for the Future TC/PC Matrix
Organization PCs Offer Information to TCs on
Program Direction and Future Technology Needs
Source for Overview Presentations PCs Should
be Looked on as Giving to TCs Not Taking
25Providing Quality Technical Information
Our Conferences Continue to Invite Papers
Remember They Must Be New Material Continue to
Pursue Panel Sessions They Offer a Way to
Involve the Audience and Address New Issues
Without Papers Continue to Pursue New Ideas
Workshops, Forums, etc. Our Publications Our
most beneficial product is the value of our
technical papers Web site gets more hits seeking
technical papers than anything else Our members
would like to be able to get valuable single
source, refereed surveys of AIAA and technical
specialist info at the touch of a button
rather than searching for numerous papers with
conflicting data or opinions. How tough? Our
Members Must be able to find themselves in the
Matrix Organization Must feel like they get more
than they spend for AIAA Membership
