- The Mission Project is designed to enable capable
adults with developmental and cognitive
disabilities to live independently in a safe
environment with minimal support.
3History
- 2004 Three couples and parents of young adults
with developmental disabilities share concerns
about alternatives after high school. - Summer 2004 First participant moves into chosen
apartment complex. - 2007 14 participants living in Mission.
4Goals of The Mission Project
- Create a community and support system for
participants to enable them to live as fully and
independently as possible and providing them
opportunities for - Socializing
- Continuing education classes and cultural
activities - Participating in recreational activities.
- Developing healthy lifestyle that includes
fitness and nutrition.
