  • Need to develop plan for services for people with
    a physical and sensory service
  • Need to ask disabled people and their carers what
    service they need and
  • How we can deliver this service

Background
  • New Green paper produced by the department of
    Health Independence Wellbeing and Choice
  • This had extensive consultation which included
    service users.
  • Aims of vision would be person centred,
    pro-active and seamless.
  • Community needs and expectations
  • have changed.
  • Best Value report also highlighted need for
    changes to how services are delivered

The Vision of the Green paper
  • The green paper says that adults will have,
  • More control
  • Chance to do things that others do take for
    granted
  • More choice to decide how their needs are met
  • Good quality of support for those with the
    highest needs

    move away from traditional services

  • Services will have to
  • manage risks allow people to take risks

    planning
  • Give people the means to choose their services
    direct payments
