Mechanization
  • The late 1800s saw the move towards mechanically
    assisted and assembly line production.
  • The move towards coal as a power source made
    factory location more flexible.

  • Factories became concentrated in certain areas by
    both coal sources and transportation needs, so
    there was an increased move towards urbanization.
  • People began the move to urban areas in search of
    the new jobs provided by industrialization.

  • As labor became unskilled, the supply of
    available workers went up, decreasing the value
    of the industrial workforce.
