particulate matter that cause smog - Reduced respiratory illness
- asthma in seniors and children is a concern
21Municipal Actions to reduce greenhouse gases
- Building retrofits
- Diverting solid waste
- Upgrading water/wastewater infrastructure
- Preparing for hybrid/zero emission vehicles
22Municipal Actions to reduce greenhouse gases
- Capturing and using landfill gas emissions
- Installing district energy systems
- Integrating transportation and
- land use planning
23Municipal Building Retrofit Process (MBRP)
- Promote building retrofits in the municipal
sector to facilitate - Operational cost reduction
- Asset renewal
- Increased service levels
- Health and environment
- Leadership in the community
24MBRP Significant Opportunities
- Utility Costs 20 reduction is typical
- Maintenance Costs 5-10 reduction is typical
- Capital plan projects often included in your
program ( you were going to spend anyway)
