  • Practical skills taught in real-life
    situations.

  • Skills are practical and applicable, and
    favoured by employers.
  • Theres a wide range of unit options.

No exam!
  • Students like the fact that there are no exams
    and that they can prove their competence by being
    awarded a certificate after each unit.

Variety of Vocational Units
  • The units on offer will appeal to the most
    creative of students, such as web design and
    animation, but also those who are looking for a
    good solid grounding in ICT for the real world.

Assessment
  • All units are centre-assessed and externally
    moderated by OCR.
  • As there are no timetabled exams for this
    qualification candidates may complete units at a
    time that suits the centre.
  • The full award and units from this qualification
    are graded as Pass, Merit or Distinction.

  • Compulsory Unit 1 Skills for Business (60 guided
    learning hours)
  • Includes assignments on file management, Internet
    email, document slide presentation,
    spreadsheet database skills.

  • Unit 21 Creating Computer Graphics (30 guided
    learning hours)
  • Students create graphics for the next unit,
    creating web pages, which include a banner,
    navigation bar and buttons.

  • Unit 2 Web Page Creation(60 guided learning
    hours)
  • Includes website planning, design and
    implementation of a simple website using
    appropriate software.

  • Unit 20 Creating animation for the WWW(30
    guided learning hours)
  • By completing this unit candidates will develop a
    knowledge and understanding of how to design,
    produce and test a short animation which is fit
    for purpose.

Extension Opportunities
  • For students who have completed units 1, 21, 2
    and 20 there is an opportunity to complete two
    further units.
