What we need is.

• More resources to research and development
• More user friendly solutions communicating with
  the users in natural language
• More awareness of LT possibilities from private
  businesses
• More cooperation between private business and the
  research world
• . not much has changed

2003 Observations..

• Most users dont know that they are frequent
  users of LT tools!
• Language technology is widely used (i.e. spell
  and grammar checking)
• Most companies use LT only when it is embedded in
  other products
• The IT world has only limited knowledge - if any
  - of how LT could dramatically increase the user
  value of certain IT applications
• In general limited interest for Language
  Technology
