- The mission of the National Safety Council is to
educate, protect, and influence society to adopt
safety, health and environmental policies,
practices and procedures that prevent and
mitigate human suffering and economic losses.

- Identify and monitor safety, and health trends,
emerging issues, and the related injury impact - Make recommendations as appropriate based on the
emerging trends - Develop and lead the process by which the
National Safety Council establishes, reviews, and
updates its public policy and positions - Provide technical expertise
- Lead the process of examining safety, and health
issues and assessing the roles and
responsibilities of the Divisions, volunteers,
and staff in how well they are achieving the
mission of the National Safety Council - Monitor and evaluate its own performance and
