EDMS use of GIS data tools

• EDMS supports the SRSAM data requirements through
  an emphasis on a broader supply of geospatial
  data and tools which support environmental and
  planning activities in ODOT, Particularly those
  that establish a connection linking back to
  SRSAM. This area of work broadens the scope of
  the EDMS program, but at its core there is
  always a connection linking back to Oregon Plan,
  environmental planning and ODOT's natural
  resource regulatory compliance.
• The current approach we are using to support
  Geo-Environmental section users in developing GPS
  data collection applications is to include large
  amounts of user training with each application
  development effort as we help ODOT staff
  transition into using this technology throughout
  the agency.
• This year's effort has taken an integrative
  approach to build applications with corresponding
  statewide regional training programs that support
  wetland delineation, wetland mitigation
  monitoring, biological mitigation monitoring,
  archaeological site assessment, and special
  management areas.
