• The easiest way to remember the equation which
  connects them is to draw a triangle like this

How to use this triangle
If you want to find the formula for speed you
place your thumb over the S, for time you place
your thumb over the T, and for distance you place
your thumb over the D.

  minutes. What was your average speed, in m/s?
• You drive for 400 km at an average speed of 80

• London to New York in 3 ½ hours.
• London to New York is 5585 km
• What is its average speed?

• 3 hrs 30 minutes is 3.5 hours
• 5558 km is 3473 miles
• 3473 3.5
• An average speed of 991.7 mph
• Takes off at 250mph, cruises at 1350mph, more
  than twice the speed of sound.
