- 450 million people worldwide have a mental
illness. - One in five Americans44 million adults and 14

- Almost every State agency has adopted a recovery
mission statement. - 93 have initiatives for individualized,
person-centered treatment plans. - More than half of the State agencies are
developing a Comprehensive State Mental Health
Plan. - 61 of State agencies already have public
information campaigns. - Every reporting State agency is implementing at
least one adult evidence-based practice. - 94 are measuring client-outcome measures.Â
