AP Biology

• The AP Biology course is designed to be the
  equivalent of a college introductory biology
  course usually taken by BIOLOGY majors during
  their first year.

Those Who Should take the Class

• Self Motivated, willing to work
• Uses effective study strategies regularly
• Willing to reflect on experiences, monitor
  knowledge acquisition, and seek additional
  assistance when needed.
• Strong interest in Biology
• Possible career choice related to Biology

Those who should NOT take the class.

• Hate to read.
• Have trouble with time management.
• Difficulty collaborating with others.
• Unwilling to take responsibility for learning.
• No interest in the Biological field.
• Want to dissect animals.
• There is no dissection.

AP Biology Labs

• There are 12 labs that must be completed. Each
  lab is similar to those found at the college
  level.
• They are not like those done in 9th grade. They
  almost always have a quantitative aspect and
  thorough analysis and debriefing are needed.
