  • Movie Maker Tutorial

In this tutorial, youll learn how to create a
video with Alices Movie Maker.

This world is the second tutorial in Alice. We
will make a video of this world.

Click Edit and then click Preferences to see
the Preferences dialog box.

Click the Rendering tab to see the properties
of the rendering engine.

Check the constrain render windows aspect
ratio checkbox.

Change the size of the recording window to
the required size. The suggested value is 480 x
360.

Click OK to continue.

Click Play to preview the story and the
recording window size.

After the story ends, close the world by clicking
X in the top right corner of the new window.

Click File and then click Export Video
to open the movie maker window.

Save your project. Your movie and the temporary
files for your movie will be created in the saved
location.

The control panel allows you to play and
record your story.

Click Record to start recording. The world
starts playing when the record button is
clicked.

The timer shows the duration of the recording.
Click Stop Recording to stop the recording.

Click Export Video to create your video.

Click Stop to close this window after your
video had been created.

You can play your video using QuickTime player.

Importing Sound
The import sound button allows you to add sound
to your story.

Unsupported File Error
If an error occurs while importing a sound, the
error dialog box appears and displays the type
of error.
This error shows that sound file is not
supported by Alice.

The ??? sound duration indicates that this
sound file is not supported.
Sound file supported by Alice. The number
indicates the duration of the sound.

Wave Audio Format
  • Supported file format includes PCM, ADPCM, GSM,
    µ-law, alaw, and TrueSpeech.

Right click on a sound file, and click
properties to view the properties page of
the sound file.
The advanced summary tab shows the audio format
of the sound file.
