- A specific child and youth policy programme for
promoting the well-being of children, young
people and families since 1999 (revised in 2007) - The post of Finlands first municipal Childrens
Ombudsman was founded in 2003 - provides information and monitors the development
of well-being of children and young people - creates opportunities for children and young
people to communicate their opinions and needs - co-ordinates child and youth work
- promotes co-operation between all child and young
people instances - The Childrens Parliament and the Open Youth
Forum were made permanent in 2004 - A Deputy Mayor to Support Growth of Children and

- already exist in secondary schools, upper
secondary schools and vocational schools - action of students union in upper secondary
schools is ordained in a law - all pupils of the school are members of students
union - students union has a board and might have a
representative body
