3Why Youth Participation?
- Children and young people are experts
- Worry about participation of young people because
of low voting rate (voting rate of 18-24 years
old 38 in 2004) - Young people are far from politics, they are not
interested about it - Politicians think participation of children and
young people is important - Appreciation respect every child and youngster
as a person - Democracy of citizens Youth participation is
part of it - Society is for everyone its common!

(both adults and youngsters) - growing to participative person
- need of culture of participation children and
young people must be seen experts, they have good
opinions and points of view - meet children and young people as dignified, take
them seriosly
5Vision of Our Child and Youth Policy
Tampere is a city for children and young people,
where childhood and adolescence are recognized
and appreciated as being significant phases in a
persons life. Rights of children and young
people are to have access to versatile, high
quality services, to participate and to have a
say as well as their rights to access to every
form of wellbeing and protection.

- how to make those youngsters active who are not
interested - to find various ways for participation ways of
children and young people we need many ways for
participation for different kind of persons -gt
sharing good practises - We need networks for developing participation!
