eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the
Father, but is of the world. And the world
passeth away, and the lust thereof but he that
doeth the will of God abideth for ever

- The son left on his own, against his fathers
will. - God never drives anyone away
- (James 114-15) Every man is tempted when he is
drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then
when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin
and sin when it is finished, bringeth for the
death. - The far country of sin still calls people away
from God.

a far country. - The boys father still had the same love and
compassion on him. - Our Father still shows his grace on those that
departed from him - (Matt 545) He maketh his sun to rise on the
evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the
just and the unjust.

riotous living. - Wasted his talents in the far country
- How many waste their talents for Satan?

a mighty famine in that land, and he began to be
in want.

- All is gone because of his waste
- His friends forsake him

citizen of that country and he sent him unto his
fields to feed swine.

with the husks that the swine did eat. - Eating with the pigs!
- Typifies one who turns from God today
- (2 Pet 222) But it is happened unto them
according to the true proverb, The dog is turned
to his own vomit again and the sow that was
washed to her wallowing in the mire.

- (vs. 17) And when he came to himself
- Picture turns from one of Despair to one of Hope
- Must realize that we are in a bad situation
before we change. - Hardest act to accomplish
- God still challenges his people to, Cry aloud,
spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and
show my people their transgressions. - (Isa 581)

- (vs. 18) I will arise and go to my father.
- Change of mind
- Decides to go back to his father
- Repentance leads to action (2 Cor 710) For
godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not
to be repented of

- True fruit of repentance is show in their deeds
- Admitted to his mistake didnt water it down
- (1 John 19) If we confess our sins, he is
faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to
cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
