1Lisinopril Tablets
Lisinopril Tablets contain the active ingredient
Lisinopril, an ACE inhibitor. They are used to
treat high blood pressure, heart failure,
post-heart attack recovery, and kidney issues
caused by Type II diabetes with high blood
pressure. Lisinopril widens blood vessels,
lowering blood pressure and aiding heart function.
2What you need to know before you take Lisinopril
tablets
- If you are allergic to lisinopril or any of the
other ingredients of this medicine (listed in
section 6).
- If you've had an allergic reaction to an ACE
inhibitor causing swelling or breathing
difficulties (angioedema).
- Avoid Lisinopril if you take sacubitril/valsartan,
as it raises the risk of angioedema (throat
swelling).
- if you have diabetes or impaired kidney function
and you are treated with a blood pressure
lowering medicine containing aliskiren.
3Warnings and Precautions of Lisinopril Tablets
- If you have a narrowing (stenosis) of the aorta
(an artery in your heart) or a narrowing of heart
valves (mitral valves).
- f you have a narrowing (stenosis) of the kidney
artery.
- if you have problems with your blood vessels
(collagen vascular disease).
- if you have low blood pressure. You may notice
this as feeling dizzy or light-headed, especially
when standing up
4How to take Lisinopril tablets
Take Lisinopril tablets exactly as prescribed by
your doctor or pharmacist, and consult them if
unsure. Your doctor may perform blood tests and
adjust your dose for optimal results. Swallow
the tablet with water, preferably at the same
time daily, with or without food. Continue taking
it as directed, as it is a long-term treatment.
Be cautious with your first dose or dose
increases, as they may cause dizziness or
