4Eye Examination Test
Taking care of your eyes is just as important as
your overall health. The eyes are one of the most
essential organs in your body, and taking care of
them should be your utmost priority. An eye
examination is a series of tests to assess your
ability to focus and check your vision. An
optometrist or ophthalmologist from Salisbury
Optometrist will review your medical history and
address the vision issues you may be having. They
will measure your visual acuity, i.e., the
ability of your eyes to distinguish the shapes
and details in objects. A visual field machine
can detect if any parts of your vision are
fading. A vision screening test, or a Specsavers
eye test, will help keep your eyes in the most
optimum condition. They can also help detect
other illnesses, if any.
5Types Of Eye Examinations
- Several eye examinations conducted at Salisbury
Optometrist can help check whether there are any
issues with your eyes. Some of them are - Test for Glaucoma An increased intraocular
pressure can result in glaucoma. Our optometrist
can check the pressure on your eyes. If left
untreated, it might cause permanent damage to the
optic nerve and loss of vision. - Perimetry Examination Our optometrist may
perform this test to check if there are blind
patches, which can be signs of glaucoma.
6- Cover Exam This is probably the quickest way to
determine how well your eyes perform. The
optometrist will cover one eye and make you stare
at a section of an eye chart. - Test of Refraction This is a standard eye test
where the optometrist flips lenses with varying
focal lengths and asks which one can help you see
better. - Binoculars Slit-Lamp Examination The optometrist
will assess the health of your eyes by focusing a
slit lamp on them.
7Benefits Of Eye Examination Tests
- Detect Eye Conditions Regular eye check-ups can
help determine whether you are developing eye
conditions, like cataracts, glaucoma, and
age-related. - Identify Medical Conditions A yearly eye exam
can help detect signs of other medical
conditions, like diabetes and high blood
pressure. - Examine If You Need Glasses A basic vision
screening test can help determine if you need to
start wearing glasses. - Improve Quality Of Life Correcting your vision
can improve the quality of day-to-day life and
prevent falls and other accidents.
8How To Keep Your Eyes Healthy?
- Eat A Healthy Diet Eat a balanced diet with many
fruits and vegetables, especially leafy greens
like spinach and kale. Fish like salmon, tuna,
and halibut are also good for your eyes. - Exercise Regularly Regular exercise can help
with weight loss and diabetes management and
prevent vision issues caused by these health
problems. - Wear Protective Eyewear Use protective eyewear
during activities that may be dangerous to your
eyes, such as yard work, sports, or home repairs. - Take Breaks Rest your eyes every 20 minutes by
