HOW TO DO GANESH PUJA STHAPANA AT HOME?
2
According to the ancient Indian Vedas, it is a
tradition to worship Lord Ganesha before
inaugurating any new work. He is believed to be
the god of wisdom, good beginnings, and removing
obstacles, depicted as a human with an elephant
head to showcase intelligence, and the balance
between nature and the human spirit. Ganesh puja
sthapana is a significant hindu ritual that
involves invoking Lord Ganeshs presence and
seeking his blessings. The puja is performed to
mark the beginning of new ventures, auspicious
occasions, and festivals. In this blog, we will
provide you with a step-by-step guide to perform
Ganesh puja sthapana at home, along with the
significance of each step and useful tips to make
your puja experience more meaningful. BENEFITS
OF PERFORMING GANESHA PUJA STHAPANA AT HOME Lord
Ganesha is worshiped before any new beginning, be
it marriage, business, or childbirth, and
bringing him home with devotion can bless the
devotee in numerous ways. He is associated with
wisdom and intellect.
3
Regular worship is believed to enhance ones
knowledge and creativity, aiding in
problem-solving. Ganesha is also considered the
god of success and prosperity, and worshiping him
daily can bring blessings for success and
financial well-being.  Students often worship
Lord Ganesha to seek his blessings for academic
excellence, memory, and concentration. He also
blesses the devotee with good health and overall
well-being, providing protection from illnesses
and accidents. Lastly, worshiping Ganesha can
promote harmony and peace within the family,
resolving disputes and conflicts, and provide the
devotee with emotional stability and the strength
to face lifes challenges. CHOOSING AN
AUSPICIOUS MUHURAT FOR STHAPANA  The selection
of an auspicious muhurat for Ganesh Puja holds a
lot of importance. In Vedic tradition, muhurat
carries significance, and performing rituals
during the right time can increase the spiritual
impact of the puja. The Vedas consider the
chaturthi tithi of shukla paksha in the
bhadrapada month as the most auspicious time for
Ganesh Sthapana.
4
They regard the installation of Lord Ganesha on
this day as a highly auspicious act believed to
bring prosperity and good fortune to the
household.  Initially, the ritual was performed
in the brahma muhurat, an hour and a half before
the sunrise, but nowadays, people prefer
performing it in any other auspicious time during
the day, as suggested by a pandit ji.  SAMAGRI
FOR GANESHA PUJA STHAPANA To perform Ganesh
Puja, one requires an idol made of clay or an
image of Lord Ganesh, which serves as the central
focus of the ritual. The place of worship must be
cleaned and purified with ganga jal, and
decorated with fresh flowers, particularly
marigold and jasmine, along with placements of
incense sticks (dhoop) and diyas to create a
positive atmosphere. To honor Lord Ganeshs sweet
tooth, modakas, his favorite sweet, are an
essential offering. Other necessary items include
a coconut, red kumkum (vermilion), and turmeric
powder for tilak, camphor for aarti, akshat
symbolizing abundance, betel leaves and nuts as a
sign of hospitality, and panchamrit made of milk,
curd, ghee, honey, and sugar for the abhishek of
the idol. These items collectively complete the
samagri of Ganesh puja.
5
It is suggested to book a verified pandit ji
online to get the complete list and guidance
about the samagri, muhurat, and other essentials
of the sthapana puja.  HOW TO DO GANESH STHAPANA
PUJA AT HOME? On the day of sthapana, it is
customary to rise early, bathe, and wear clean
attire. Cleanse the household shrine and adorn
your home for bappas arrival. In the north-east
corner, place a wooden pedestal covered with a
red or yellow cloth. Begin with murti sthapana,
and ensure that Lord Ganesha faces east or north,
as it is the direction of devas. Sprinkle a few
drops of ganga jal or fresh water on the idol to
symbolize purification. Then, offer some akshat,
and light a lamp or diya. Offer fresh flowers and
garlands to Lord Ganesha as a symbol of devotion.
Place modakas or other sweets and fruits as bhog
in front of the deity to show gratitude and seek
blessings. Recite Ganesh mantras, like Om Gam
Ganapataye Namaha, to invite Lord Ganesha into
the house.
6
It is suggested to do the puja as per the
detailed vedic-vidhi for the most benefits. With
google and all other websites, it has become much
easier to book a verified pandit ji for Shri
Ganesh puja in Delhi, Ahmedabad, Rishikesh, or
any other Indian city.  CONCLUSION Once the
sthapana is done, all the family members can come
together to sing the aarti, and celebrate the
glory of Lord Ganesha with bhajans. These are
small gestures of inviting him into our lives.
Bhajans, or devotional songs, fill the house with
positive energy by expressing love and devotion
for Lord Ganesh and help devotees connect with
the deity on a profound level, and bring a sense
of peace and unity among the family members. May
his blessings fill every home with joy, success,
and prosperity, and may he remove obstacles from
everyones path. Ganpati Bappa Morya!
