Biodiesel is a green fuel and has passed the
health effects testing requirements (Tier I and
Tier II) of the Clean Air Act of 1990 with
results indicating that biodiesel is
biodegradable, non-toxic and poses no threat to
peoples health. It improves air quality and the
health of communities. Biodiesel burns much
cleaner than petroleum diesel, reducing
particulate matter, carbon monoxide, unburned
hydrocarbons, and other smog causing particles.

Biodiesel has a flash point that is considerably
higher than petroleum-based diesel fuel. This
means that the fire hazard associated with
transportation, storage, and utilization of
biodiesel is much less than with other commonly
used fuels. Biodiesel is also safe to handle and
transport because it is as biodegradable as
sugar, and is 10 times less toxic than table salt.
