4WHAT WE DO ?
Building Women-Owned Institutions
Childhood Care
Sampark works towards enhancing the voice of
women, with the philosophy that all women, men
and children have the basic human rights to
dignity and self-determination, and that all
people should have the opportunity and choice to
enhance their own potential and well-being.
Focusing on early child care NGO in Bangalore,
and prevention of nutrient deficiencies have
long-term and widespread benefits for individuals
and societies. Sampark runs 24 creches day care
centers in Bangalore, for children of
construction workers in the age group of above 6
months and under 14 years. Creches offer a safe
environment and ensure cognitive, social and
emotional development of a child. They receive
nutritional and immunization support, and a
stimulating environment to learn with fun through
a non-formal education programme. Since 2007,
Sampark has established about 75 creches in
various labour colonies in Bangalore and has
reached out to more than 55,000 children of
construction workers
Empowering Migrant Construction Workers
Sampark creates awareness among migrant workers
about their entitlements in various sectors such
as health, education, finance, social security
and legal aid, and increases access to these
entitlements to improve their livelihoods. These
are achieved through the setting up of Workers
Resource Centres (WRCs), and implementing
activities of awareness raising, information
provision, and linkages.
