  • Intellectual Property(IP) is a nonphysical
    creation of the human brain, usually expressed or
    translated into a non-physical format, i.e.
    assigned certain rights of property. Intellectual
    Property includes an author's copyright on a book
    or article, on music or different design elements
    of a website, or a patent on a particular process
    to, for example, manufacture cold drinks.
  • Intellectual property law involves the protection
    of all four types i.e. copyrights, patents,
    trademarks, and trade secrets. In effect, the
    intellectual property provides the inventor of a
    new and novel invention or idea a temporary
    monopoly on its use.

TYPES
  • PATENT A patent is a right granted for a
    novel invention, which can be a product or a
    process that provides, a new way of doing
    something, or provides a new technical solution
    to a problem. To get a Patent, all the technical
    information about that invention must be
    disclosed to the public to get a patent
    application.
  • COPYRIGHT A copyright is the other type of
    Intellectual Property that
    provides the owner right to copy, distribute,
    display, and perform a creative work, but
    generally it is for a limited time period. The
    creative work may be in a literature, painting,
    educational, or musical form.

  • TRADEMARK A trademark is one of the type
    of Intellectual Property that consists of
    any sign, design, or expression that is
    recognizable and can identifies products or servic
    es from a particular source and differentiate
    them from the others.
  • TRADE SECRET Trade secrets are
    a type of intellectual property that includes
    formulas, practices, procedures, blueprints, tools
    , designs, or compendiums of information that hold
     essential profitable valuation b because they
    aren't commonly known or preferably ascertainable
    by others, and which the proprietor takes conseque
    nt steps to keep secret.
