What are Child Visa 101 and 802?
  • Child Visa 101 and 802 are Australian visas
that allow children to live in the country with
their parents. The main difference between the
two is that Child Visa 101 is for children
already in Australia, while 802 is for those
    outside the country.
  • Child Visa 101
  • To be eligible for a Child Visa 101, the child
must be under 18 years of age and sponsored by a
parent or guardian who is an Australian citizen
    or permanent resident.
  • Applicants also need to meet additional
requirements, such as financial means and good
    health.
  • Child Visa 802
  • Those wishing to apply for Child Visa 802 can
only do so if they're outside Australia.
  • They'll need to show that they've legally lived
overseas for at least 12 months before applying
    for the visa.
  • Additionally, applicants must prove they have
close ties with Australia, which usually includes
    showing employment or educational opportunities
    there.

4
Who is eligible for this program?
  • The child must be under 18 years of age, the
child must be a biological or adopted child of
the parent, the child must be unmarried, and the
child must have no children of their own. In
addition, the child must be a citizen of a
country that is a party to the Hague Convention
on the Civil Aspects of International Child
    Abduction.

5
What are the benefits?
  • This program may work for you if you have
custody of your child. However, you cannot use
this program if your spouse has custody and does
    not consent to international travel.

6
How long does it take?
  • The process of applying for a child visa can be
lengthy, and it's essential to be prepared for
the potential wait. The first step is to submit
an application, which can take anywhere from a
few days to a few weeks.
  • Once the application is submitted, it will be
reviewed by a consular officer. If everything is
in order, the child will be issued a visa.
However, if there are any issues with the
    application, it could take longer.

7
What documents do you need?
  • Your child's original birth certificate
  • Your marriage certificate (if applicable)
  • Your divorce decree or annulment papers (if
    applicable)
  • A copy of your passport
  • A recent photograph of your child in color and
with a plain white background. The picture should
be taken against a plain, light-colored
background. For the child's face to be clearly
visible, the head should not be covered by hair,
    a hat, or other objects.
  • With these documents, you can easily apply
for Child Visa 101  Child Visa 802.
