Abol Tabol is a collection of Bengali poems or
rhymes composed by Sukumar Ray. It was first
published in 1923 consisting of 46 titled and 7
untitled rhymes. It falls in the genre of
nonsense literature. It offers the best
pun-riddled poetry to which Bengali readers were
first exposed.

Monojder Adbhut Bari by Ananda publishers is a
Bengali adventure story written by Shirshendu
Mukhopadhyay. The story is about a young boy,
Manoj and his weird family. He leads a chaotic
life with his whimsical family members and ends

edition of Panther Panchali. The main characters
of this book are Apu and his elder sister, Durga
who comes across several obstacles in their
lives. The plot is set in rural Bengal and is
known for its simplicity.
6Gonshai Baganer Bhoot
This is a Bengali comedy fantasy written by
Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay and published by Ananda
publishers. It is a horror book for teenage
readers and the tale revolves around Burun and
befriends a ghost at Gosainbagan. It was
published in 1979 and is considered a popular
childrens book.
7Harshabardhan Gobardhan
Harshabardhan and Gobardhan are two Bengali
humorous fictional characters created by Shibram
Chakraborty. The book was published by Parul
prokashoni and is a collection of short satirical
stories. A characteristic of these stories is
wit, a play of words and the good-natured
characters.
