What is Retinol-
Retinol is a type of retinoid which is a kind of
Vitamin A. Retinol is one of the mostly used skin
care products around the world, it comes as
liquid serum, cream, gel and ointment, it is easy
to apply topically that means these are directly
applied to the skin.  Retinol is generally a
type of retinoid that is a drug that comes from
vitamin A. Retinoids include both over the
counter(OTC) retinoid products and prescription
retinoid medication. Retinol can easily penetrate
to the layers of skin which is known as the
stratum corneum and can also penetrate a deeper
layer that is dermis. Retinol can convert into
retinoic acid after entering the body. When
retinol is present in the skin layers, it
promotes cell turnover and also prevents the
breakdown of collagen, that is a protein that
increases the elasticity of skin.
