2PREFACE
College life is like a dream, and it gets all
summed up within a span of four to five years.
The most colorful and cheerful is the college
campus life if you are a resident student then
there could be nothing more fun. India not only
has some of the top schools but also houses some
of the worlds most beautiful colleges. Every
campus has its own beauty and not only the visual
appearance, but its beauty also lies with the
memories that you design here as a student.
College life is a dream of every school-going
student. Everyone has their visuals about
college life with the unlimited package of
laughter and gang. Everyone is young and full of
enthusiasm to take the challenges and fly over
the cloud of rainbows. Theres no denying the
fact that our college is very dear to each one
of us and while we know that education and
faculty play an important role in deciding the
ranking of colleges and universities nationwide,
even the college architecture or location act as
catalysts in the same! So, on that note, we
thought of curating a list compiling the most
beautiful colleges in India, which you can check
on further pages.
3Forest Research Institute, Dehradun The campus
is like living in Pablo Picassos artistic
world. The campus is in the state of Uttarakhand
in the Doon Valley with a perfectly picturesque
backdrop painted with the Shivalik ranges of the
Himalayas. CG Blomfield was the main brainchild
behind the impeccable colonial-style Greco-Roman
architecture of the building, which is deemed the
oldest of its kind in India. The filmmakers of
Student of Year (2012) got stuck into the
beauty of the campus and shot several scenes for
the film. You cannot resist yourself to capture
the campus into your camera devices.
4St. Xaviers College Mumbai St. Xaviers College
is an architectural marvel which was founded in
the year 1869. Identified as a heritage
structure by the Mumbai Heritage Conservation
Committee, the campus stands out for its
Indo-Gothic architecture, the in-house museum
that preserves rare, old books, the famous
leisure space named The Woods housing an
expansive tree plantation and an auditorium
with two secret underground passages. Sprawling
over 1.18 hectares, the institute is renowned for
its green initiatives and sustainable efforts to
ensure efficient water conservation and waste
management.
5Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee The
marvelous white architecture surrounded by the
lush green campus area delivers you such a royal
grant. The campus feels like a giant royal
residence from the British era where you can
imagine yourself as the prince or the princess
living a royal life. This heritage architecture
is built in the town located in the foothills of
the Himalayas and The James Thomason building is
an administrative building of the campus that is
shaped in a quadrangle, built in renaissance
style, and overlooks the Himalayan snow-clad
peaks. the aesthetically pleasing, 141.6-hectare
(approx.) campus sports modern architecture and
heritage buildings along with idyllic walking
trails. It was built in the year 1847,
Established as The Roorkee College during the
British Empire.
6King Georges Medical University, Lucknow The
architecture of the college is a result of
absolute brilliance. What started as a
proposition by Maharaja of Vijaynagaram led to
the laying of the foundation stone by then
Prince of Wales, King George V, in 1906 was
built and completed in the year 1911 and became a
fully functional medical school campus in
Lucknow. The design and architecture are done by
Sir Swinton Jacob in an Indo-Saracen style or
the Mughal-Gothic Style. The main campus building
has Islamic architecture blended with
Neo-European architecture. If you are into art,

the campus at least once in your lifetime.
