2BlazeMaster Fire Protection Systems are
specially engineered for use in all light hazard
residential applications. Our CPVC satisfies all
standards and code approvals for non-metallic
fire sprinkler systems.
Backed by Lubrizol Corporations nearly 60 years
of CPVC experience, BlazeMaster material delivers
the security expected of any fire suppression
system.
3Why Install a Fire Sprinkler?
Smoke alarms are not enough.
For many years, it has been commonly recognised
that a smoke alarm and fire extinguisher is a
suitable defence against residential fire risk.
While smoke and fire alarms perform an essential
task of warning families of any hazards that have
emerged in the house, they cannot get to work to
extinguish a fire. Without regular maintenance
and testing, many alarms stop working, having
been forgotten about.
BlazeMaster CPVC Fire Sprinklers get straight to
work in tackling a fire, at its source. This
direct response significantly reduces the threat
of fire spreading to other parts of the property.
4Fire sprinklers can fully extinguish fires.
Another common misconception about automatic fire
suppression is its ability to adequately put out
a fire. In a European study. Over a ten year
period in which building fires were recorded, 98
were fully extinguished by sprinklers alone. Of
these, 60 were extinguished from the activation
of just four sprinkler heads.
Fire sprinkler heads do not all trigger at once.
Fire detection in BlazeMaster CPVC sprinklers is
much more specific. When a sprinkler heads
sensor bulb identifies a temperature of 68C or
above, that specific sprinkler head activates and
water is released. no other sprinkler heads in
the system are triggered, leaving the rest of the
buildings occupants safe and dry, while the
sprinkler heads that are required, get straight
to work.
5How Do Fire Sprinkler Systems Work?
Fire sprinklers are traditionally available as
wet pipe systems or dry pipe systems.
Wet systems are constantly charged by the
buildings water supply, waiting to be used. Dry
systems are attached to a pump the pump will
supply water as and when it is needed, following
a short delay of a few seconds.
When a BlazeMaster sprinkler heads sensor bulb
identifies a temperature of 68C or above, the
sprinkler head triggers release of water. The
constant charge of water cuts response time its
a fast action system that gets to work when every
second counts
6Why Are Sprinklers So Effective?
Correct BlazeMaster CPVC sprinkler installation
throughout a residential or commercial property
can thoroughly extinguish emerging building
fires, minimising risk to human life and damage
to the overall structure.
Statistics show that 98 of fires are
extinguished when a properly installed sprinkler
is in place.
7Why CPVC Fire Sprinklers?
BlazeMaster Fire Protection Systems are made from
chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC.) Its
chemical composition is petroleum with high
levels of salt, which allows high levels of
chlorine content. This is what gives our CPVC
such exceptional resistance to heat.
Lubrizols unique engineering of CPVC compounds
allows us to achieve the following fire safety
characteristics
During a fire, charring forms on the outside of
the pipe, while the interior remains unchanged -
charring itself forms a thermal barrier,
restricting the flow of heat into the pipe wall.
CPVC has a Limiting Oxygen Index (LOI) of 60 the
Earths LOI is 21. CPVC requires three times more
oxygen than we have in the Earths atmosphere to
burn.
Water cools the pipe system from the inside out
adding another layer of protection on the inside
8CPVC pipe and fitting compounds have achieved the
European fire classification of Bs1d0 - the
highest rating a plastic material can achieve.
B - Low flammability, no contribution to
flashover (rapid ignition of directly exposed
combustible material in the area)
s1 - No smoke development (contribution to toxic
environment)
d0 - No flaming droplets (transfer of flammable
liquid spreading fire to new areas)
9Where Can BlazeMaster CPVC Sprinklers be Used?
