Overview
  • A little know-how can save you a lot of money
when it comes to mounting a flat panel TV on the
    wall. Professional installation costs between
150 and 350, not including the cost of the
    mount.
  • You can do a first-rate job yourself in about an
hour if you can handle some careful measurement
and driving a few screws. We'll teach you how to
install a television on the wall. We'll also help
you sort through the dizzying array of mounts and
select the one that's right for you.

three basic styles Of flat t. v
  • Low-Profile Mounts
  • Basic mounting
  • Low-profile mounts (ranging from 25 to 150)
    keep the TV flush
  • against the wall. As a result, there is less of a
    stumbling block
  • along traffic lanes, and the chance of TV damage
    or injuries is
  • reduced.

Tilting mounts
  • More Adjustability
  • Tilting mounts (50 to 200) allow you to raise
the TV above eye level or adjust the angle to fit
the situation, which is useful if you're viewing
TV on the floor one day and the sofa the next.

Full-motion mounts
  • Most versatile option
  • Tilt, swivel, pan, and extend the TV with
full-motion mounts (100 to 500). That means you
may pull the TV away from the wall and swivel it
to face the viewer to the left or right.

Steps for Installing A TV Wall Mount
  • Step 1 Find the Stud and Mount
  • The first step is to locate a secure location to
hang the frame that will support the television.
To begin, locate the studs. There are several
methods for locating studs. One method is to
identify an outlet on the floor that is over 16
inches long and is a stud.
  • The majority of mounting frames require four
bolts, which must be drilled beforehand. Slow
down and do everything you can to keep things
level if you're a little off, there will be
repairs afterwards. But only if you're slightly
    off-level!

Step 2 Run Wires Through The Wall
  • Place the wires in the wall once the frame has
been hung. Check to see if the cables can be
installed in walls. People who are unsure if
their cables are safe for in-wall installation or
who know their wires are not suited for in-wall
installation can purchase painted channeling that
runs from the television to the outlet.
  • Another alternative is to have someone come in
and install a new outlet behind the television so
    that it is hidden.

Step 3 Placing Your TV on The Mount
  • After the frame has been installed, place the
television on it. This is usually simple, but you
may need to look for objects to line up, so
having a helper is a good idea.
  • It's not a pleasant thought to imagine a
television falling on someone or breaking. If the
television isn't quite level after it's been
hung, grip the high side and push it down.
