ABOUT UNIVERSITY
Gulbarga University attained establishment in the
year 1980. Since then the University is working
hard in offering excellent higher education to
the students of Gulbarga and surrounding
districts. Accordingly, Gulbarga University
excels in the field of higher education offering
Under Graduate, Post Graduate, M.Phil, and P.hD
courses in various streams. Accordingly, the
University extends administers its affiliation in
five differents districts mainly Bidar, Gulbarga,
Bellary, Raichur, and Koppal. Moreover, the
University administers 38 Post Graduate
Departments and four PG Centers at Bidar,
Bellary, Krishnadevarayanagar, Raichur. Likewise,
305 colleges attained affiliation with Gulbarga
University. Moreover, the affiliated colleges
offer Graduate and Diploma Courses in Arts,
Commerce, Science, Music, Social Science, Science
and Technology, Education Law.

ABOUT UNIVERSITY
The university has come a long way in terms of
Education and other aspects that define the
university. Initially, in 1970 the university was
a post graduate center of Karnataka University,
Dharwad. Further, after its establishment in
1980, the University has incorporated a lot of
on-demand courses and various infrastructural
facilities. Likewise, the Institution offers
numerous Under graduate, post graduate, M.Phil,
and P.hD programs in various streams. Further,
the university houses a lot of facilities all
thanks to the extremely gigantic 800 acres of
land. Furthermore, the University is located 6
Kilometres east of Gulbarga City.

HISTORY
Initially, in 1970 the university was a PG center
of Karnataka University, Dharwad. Later, the
University attained establishment in 1980.
Moreover, the university functions as a center of
excellence in Higher Education to the candidates
of Gulbarga and nearby districts. Further, 3000
plus students enrolled in the University each
year. Furthermore, the university features more
than 150 well qualified faculty and around 700
supporting staff.

INFRASTRUCTURE
Hostel Accordingly, the university features five
male hostels and three female hostels. Moreover,
the hostel offers various facilities such as
indoor games, Newspaper, and Magazines, reading
and Visitors room, recreation halls, television,
telephones, kitchen dining hall with nutritious
food, etc Computer Center Accordingly, the
university features a computer center equipped
with the latest systems and updated from time to
time. Moreover, students receive training in
various computer related courses. Further,
Internet facilities allow students to access more
resources.

Gymnasium Accordingly, the university permits the
students and the staff to take advantage of the
fully working gym equipped with latest
equippments. Canteen Accordingly, the institution
features a canteen that prepares nutritious food
at an affordable cost. Laboratories Moreover, the
laboratories are well maintained and equipped
with latest equipments.

Library Accordingly, the Library a center of
extensive knowledge houses more than 200,000
books, subscriptions to various journals, ebooks,
conference papers. Likewise, the library800
features a seating capacity of more than 800
users at once. Further, more than 100 computers
are established to maintain the library and easy
access to resources. Furthermore, WiFi access
made available across the library. Health
Care Moreover, the institution features a health
center to cater to the medical needs of the
students. Further, the health center features all
the basic facilities and advanced facilities like
ECG, X-Ray, etc. Likewise, it organizes medical
check-ups every year to ensure good student's
health. Moreover, it is maintained by qualified
medical staff.

Placement Cell Further, the placement cell
provides appropriate training to the students and
prepares them for the placements. Also, they play
an important role in establishing relationship
with the companies. NSS Likewise, the NSS unit
holds various activities throughout the year and
promotes social responsibility among the
students. Red Cross Likewise, the Red Cross unit
promotes the students to offer assistance
whenever there is a need.

Sports Further, the University encourages
students to participate in various indoor and
outdoor sports games and activities. Likewise,
the university houses four indoor courts and a
large outdoor sports ground. Likewise, the sports
ground for games like Football, Hockey,
Volleyball, Kho-Kho, and Kabaddi, Cricket, indoor
games such as Badminton, Basketball, Tennis
Table. Guest House Accordingly, the university
hosts a number of seminars, workshops, and much
more. Thus, to accommodate the guest/faculty
members the university features two separate
buildings with catering facilities.. The first
building called Kailasabhavan Guest House houses
four suites and double rooms each, eight single
rooms. Likewise, the other building called Silver
Jublee Guest House houses forty eight single
rooms.
