Why A Bachelors in Arts?
2
WHY A BACHELORS IN ARTS?
  • Teachers are also asked why art in high school
should be learned by students. Creative thought,
developing the mind, and feeding the soul are the
typical responses all of which do nothing to
resolve concerns about soft topics, university
entry, jobs, and long-term economic well-being.
Jobs and wage figures are usually dismal for
graduates with Art and Design degrees the worst
of all degrees. However, contrary to common
opinion, artistic subjects are no longer a
well-trodden path to poverty. For an increasing
number of students, they are an excellent choice.
  • This article discusses the reasons why one should
    study for Bachelors in Arts

3
You learn how to think
  • One learns to think objectively, creatively, and
analytically with a liberal education in the arts
and sciences. You learn to look into the whats,
whys, and hows of the universe instead of
accepting anything given to you at face value.
How can my business be strengthened by this
project? A better way is there? What are the real
motivations of this politician? Why am I expected
to vote for her or him? You learn how to question
those preconceived ideas of what is best, and
instead of another sheep in the herd, you become
a fully functional, interactive member of society.

4
You learn how to communicate
  • In an atmosphere of arts both orally and on
paper, you learn how to convey ideas. And thats
even more enticing if you master a foreign
language. The ability to communicate efficiently
is a skill that is important in the workforce as
well as in daily life. Besides, nobody wants to
be that guy in the office who in his emails
cant even create a proper sentence.

5
 Its flexible
  • We no longer live in a world where a person
finishes school and then works until retirement
40 years later for the same company (okay, some
people still do this, but its getting rarer and
rarer). You create a broad-based basis of
knowledge with a liberal arts education on which
you can build a variety of skills. Earning a
degree in history does not mean that you have to
become a professor or work in a museum. It is
possible to apply the critical thinking skills
you learn to a broad range of occupations.

6
You become a citizen of the world
  • Globalization makes it less and less possible to
get there by only understanding the own
    communitys customs and traditions. Your
profession would almost certainly include dealing
with other cultures and maybe even other
countries if you work in business or technology.
Even if you want to stay in a small town for the
rest of your life, chances are high that you will
find yourself connecting with someone from a
    different background. When you experience
anything different or unexpected, the liberal
arts and sciences introduce you to a range of
cultures and ways of thinking and allow you to
    maintain an open mind.

7
You get to know yourself better
  • One will find yourself asking yourself questions
and discussing a wide range of thoughts far
beyond your comfort zone. You can learn to think
abstractly and to approach several topics from a
wide variety of perspectives. You will be able to
position things in a larger sense, and within
that context, you might even be forced to
understand your own role. Embrace yourself! You
could just learn something about yourself that
    you never knew before.

WHY STUDY A B.A IN HUMANITIES? REASONS YOU CANT
DISMISS
  • As the Cinderella of Bachelors Studies, several
looks at the humanities. And if you think that
Cinderella has become a princess, theyre not
that far off. So lets see why its as good to
study humanities to study science. Any
    to-the-point reasons are here
  • You learn how to evaluate persons and incidents
and how to defend your views.
  • Youre going to be able to make complex ideas
    sound plain,
  • For humanities graduates, there are as many jobs
as there are for IT and mathematics graduates.
  • Youll learn how to pitch an idea and communicate
    with individuals directly.
  • With your cultural awareness, youll make others
    jealous.
  • Studies in the humanities put more emphasis on
    emotional intelligence and abilities.

CAREERS WITH A HUMANITIES DEGREE
  • How does being well-read translate into a
respectable paycheck is the major question for
    prospective humanities undergraduates? The
response is not as mind-bending as you would
expect employers appreciate innovation as well
as technological expertise or training as well as
critical thinking. Youre a star if you have
    both.
  • So, after you get your humanities degree, dont
be shocked to find many companies that have job
openings for you. Heres where cool work can be
    found

10
Journalism and Publishing
  • Surprise! Surprise! Instead of journalism, many
journalists have a degree in humanities, which
gives them the communication and analytical
skills they need to report news stories. The
publishing industry also needs the eye for facts
and the ability to spot a great story that
    graduates of the Humanities have.

11
Advertising
  • Advertising is all about innovative thinking and
getting people to respond to commercials
positively. As a humanities graduate, due to your
study of society, culture, and literature, you
    carry them to the table.

12
International Relations
  • You have a great chance of landing jobs at
embassies in other countries as a cultural attach
if your studies are based on a specific culture.
Youll be the most eligible individual to
understand the culture of that country and
represent your own. If you specialize in Foreign
    Affairs, even more so.

13
Teaching
  • Pass it on to others if youre passionate about
your subject. As you achieve academic prestige,
the talents you acquire through your own degree
program can be taught to the next generation. And
more so if your style of teaching adds a
    metaphysical touch.
