Title: Curing the stubborn cough

1
Curing the stubborn cough
  • This is one of the most popular as well as
effective remedies in cough treatment. When you
gargle with salted water thats warm, it is not
directly responsible for treating the cough but
it helps in reducing the itching and inflammation
present in the throat. As one of the best natural
remedies for cough, it helps loosen mucus and
    phlegm in the throat too.

2
  • Mint
  • Mint leaves contain menthol and menthol content
is helpful in numbing the nerve endings that are
present in our throat. When that happens, there
is less irritation in the throat and as a result,
a reduction in our urge to cough. This is also
very helpful during the night. If there is
congestion in the throat then mint leaves can
    help in clearing that too.

3
  • Turmeric
  • In the treatment of various respiratory
conditions such as bronchitis, tonsilitis or even
a sore throat, turmeric has been used as an
effective medicine of the ayurvedic system.
Turmeric contains Curcumin, which is well-known
to have anti-inflammatory properties that are
    very helpful in relieving cough.

4
  • Honey
  • Rather than allopathic or homeopathic medicine
for cough, or any other treatment, you can use
honey to cure your stubborn cough. Many pieces of
research have shown that honey is a successful
alternative to antibiotics in treating night-time
cough. For respiratory illnesses such as
tonsilitis or sore throat, honey is a great
    option.

5
  • Licorice
  • Licorice or you may have heard mulethi, is very
effective in relieving the symptoms of a stubborn
cough. Licorice tea is helpful in loosening the
phlegm and providing relief in congestion.
Researches show that licorice is able to reduce
the symptoms of cough within 60 minutes of
    consumption.
