Generally, Remdesivir is a broad-spectrum
antiviral drug developed by American
biopharmaceutical giant Gilead Sciences.

Originally, Remdesivir was developed for the
treatment of Hepatitis C. Eventually, in the past
this drug has been effectively used for the treat
SARS coronavirus and MERS coronavirus, and now
researchers around the globe are hopeful that
this drug stands strong against COVID 19 as well.
Remdesivir works by interfering with the
replication of viruses including SARs and CoV 19
which is responsible for the current pandemic. US
Food and Drug Administration (FDA) granted an
emergency use authorization for clinicians to
use the drug.
