2The entire world is under the grip of the Novel
COVID-19. This virus has changed our lifestyle
totally in which we were habituated till the
arrival of this deadly virus. One year has
passed the virus has not gone yet. Moreover, the
second wave of this virus is visiting the
different countries of the world. Even some
countries have experienced the third wave has
already.
3This pandemic has changed the way we access
health care and it includes dental care also.
COVID 19 virus spreads through droplets. When
droplets of an infected person enter the
respiratory system of another person, there is a
high chance that the second person will get
infected. Dentistry is such a service where the
doctor and the patient have to come close else
the doctor cannot check gum or teeth inside the
mouth. Then what to do? You cannot stop the
dentistry practice. The Miami dentists have come
to a solution. They are maintaining some easy
rules as precautionary measures.

5Miami dentist are requesting patients not to
crowd in the clinic unless there is a dental
emergency such as swollen cheeks, gum pain,
toothache, bleeding gums, etc. But, issues such
as tooth cleaning, whitening of teeth, etc. are
not emergency, and can be done later or can be
avoided at this present scenario. Patients are
requested to take prior appointments to minimize
the number of patients in the waiting area. In
this way, they maintain social distancing.
6The whole dental clinic including the chairs,
sofa, and other areas are being sanitized several
times a day. At the entrance of the clinic, there
is a dedicated person who is checking the
temperature of everyone who is entering the
clinic. They are not allowing people to enter the
Clinic who have a temperature higher than the
normal level because the higher temperature is
one of the symptoms of COVID 19.
7Doctors chambers are thoroughly sanitized and
cleaned immediately after one patient leave.
Miami doctors are not allowing the next patient
to enter the cabin unless it is fully sanitized.
Doctors personally are sanitizing their tools and
they keep them ready before the patients visit
the chamber. Some new measures are being taken
like chairs and non-disposable instruments are
thoroughly sanitized after the treatment of every
patient. Doctors are trying to use disposable
instruments as much as possible. To maintain
everything properly, some of the clinics have to
escalate the visit slightly.
8Doctors are treating their patients wearing PPE
Kit including hairnets, face shields, body gowns,
gloves and they are changing the whole kit after
treating each patient to minimize the risk of
contamination. They are doing their best to
maintain their current guidelines.
