2More than 4 decades in the packaging industry and
still going strong!
As we get closer to celebrating the 40th
anniversary of Express Packaging, let us have a
look back at how our journey evolved.
3Established in 1979 in the port of Savannah,
Georgia as Port City Packaging,
we began by serving locally owned Savannah
companies looking for packaging solutions.
4In 1985
our company introduced the first Flexo Folder
Gluer (FFG), giving us an edge on our
competitors.
5Our growing list of happy customers enabled us to
move into a bigger, 35,000-square-foot sewing
factory in Pembroke, Georgia in 1986.
6In the year 1989,
we rebuilt our 74174 rotary slotter to a
74192 to make it as accessible and efficient as
possible while also expanding our facility.
7Years 1991 and 1995 marked the 2nd and 3rd
phases of our expansion, allowing us to carry out
more effective and efficient company practices.
81998 Switching to the flat bed die cutter from
our Thomson die cutter enabled us to be more
precise and also to add to our range of products.
9In 2001 we were continuously expanding to
companies outside Savannah. The same year, Port
City Packaging was renamed Express
Packaging. The final stages of our factory
expansion were also completed this year now
spanning 140,000 sq feet.
