How does an Absolute Magnetic Encoder work?

• The entire working mechanism of these seemingly
  complex encoders, is actually very simple. Two or
  more magnetic poles relay the encoder position.
  Now while the deducing of the angle of the shaft
  is more or less like that of an optical encoder,
  the use of microprocessor makes it a fool-proof
  system with minimal chance of error.
