How Membrane Switches Are Constructed?
The American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM)
defines the switch as a momentary one in which at
least one contact is made of a flexible substrate
or on. The switches are generally made up of 4
layers with some may even require more. As each
layer tend to function differently, so assembling
installing each layer requires careful
handling.

• The first layer of the switch is called the
  Graphic Interface.
• It is visible to the naked eye and located at the
  topmost layer of the membrane switch.
• The second layer is the Printed Circuit. This is

  like polyimide substances or copper.
