WHAT ARE THEY? Weeping tiles are used to drain
water away from the foundation of a home as well
as basements.They are vital to keeping basements
and underground structures water free.

HOW DO THEY WORK? Each of the weeping tiles has
a small slit that runs along the length of one
side. They are then buried under the gravel,which
keeps the soil from clogging up the tile and it
allows it to drain the water to a sewage system.

WHAT IS IT MADE OUT OF? Up until the 1970s,
drain pipes were made out of clay.Plastic is now
what weeping tiles are made out of,it is high in
density polyethylene tubing.This means that it is
durable and flexible which it needs to be.

HOW IS IT INSTALLED? Weeping tiles must be
buried in a trench and covered in
gravel.But,along with that,one end must be higher
than the other end so that the water can drain
away from the foundation.Sump pumps can also help
with this by drawing the water out of the end and
sending it to a drainage ditch or sewage drain.

WHEN SHOUKD IT BE INSTALLED? Any properties that
are located in a flood-prone area should consider
installing weeping tiles.They are rustproof,
durable, and wont be damaged by the soil pH.
