Role of RO Plant Manufacturers in Automobile
Industry
  • One of the growing market for RO plant
manufacturers India is the automotive industry.
It takes close to 40,000 gallons of water to make
a single automobile. This estimate may actually
go up if tyre production is also included. What
it means is that the automotive industry is a
major consumer of water and as it booms, so will
    its consumption.
  • So, where does the reverse osmosis plants
manufacturer fit into this? There are two major
areas where RO plants work in this industry
  • Providing clean water
  • Wastewater management

3
Corporate focus on water
Water may seem like the cheapest commodity in
building a vehicle, but it is may not be as
simple as that. As water conservation becomes the
focus, many automobile manufacturers are
proactively working with RO plants manufacturers
India for a more careful approach towards water
use. Part of it is driven by the lack of
availability of clean water. The other part is
tightening norms which stipulate responsible
usage of water and it disposal. Let us look at
why water treatment has become such an essential
part of the industry

Clean water requirement Normal groundwater or
tap water will simply be too contaminated to be
used for manufacturing purposes. There are many
places where we need clean water, particularly in
washing parts. We need water that has absolutely
no impurities to ensure ether is absolutely no
residue left on the parts. This is an extremely
necessary precaution that impacts the overall
assembly. For instance, In the engine assembly,
we need fine filtration to ensure that no
particulates are left on the parts. What we need
here is high purity water and RO water is usually
the preferred solution. The RO plants here are
often engaged in producing purified water and
will often also have pretreatment facilities on
the premises.
6
Paint shops The largest consumption of water in
an automobile factory is in the paint shop. This
comes from the high water usage in the painting
processes that depend on water-based paints and
coatings. Not just for the paint, we also need
water to clean the processing equipment.
According to some estimates, a paint shop will
take thousands gallons of water in a week. Apart
from   Reusing water The heavy use of water in
the automobile industry is slowly becoming
untenable because of the scarcity of water. Many
in the automobile industry have therefore,
started acting before the problem worsens. The
easiest way to do this is by reusing water. The
challenge here is the heavily contaminated waste,
which is much worse than the municipal water that
companies use as feed water. Some companies are
using RO technology to treat this water. Others
have started zero discharge systems.
7
Water treatment
One of the biggest problems attached with the
water usage in an automative industry is also the
waste generation. The runoff from different
processes includes dirt, chemicals, metals,
plastics and other toxic material. Dealing with
this requires a separate approach that must be
equally planned out. Many automobile
manufacturers chose to go with RO plants
manufacturers India who also offer wastewater
treatment. Many Indian companies are today
offering complete water solutions, which include
water treatment, effluent treatment as well as
zero liquid discharge systems. Of these the zero
liquid discharge system is the most extreme
example.
8
Zero liquid discharge systems
As norms on waste disposal are tightening, the
focus of waste management is shifting towards
zero liquid discharge systems. As the name
suggests, here we ensure that no water is wasted
and every drop is reused in the manufacturing
process. Needless to say this is the most
effective way of dealing with effluent treatment
and meet water requirement at the same
time. This is an advanced technology and must be
installed at the premises. The two main factors
that you have to consider here are Economy
This can be an expensive system to install and
run. However, you will save in the long run. But
no harm in looking for an economic
vendor! Standard One of the reasons for
installing the system is to meet the stringent
standards on waste treatment and disposal. So,
ensure that the vendor can meet these
requirements. RO plant manufacturers India have
an important role to play in automobile
manufacturing. But their role goes beyond mere
water treatment. It often involves wastewater
disposal and treatment.
