Why and how: I have seen many people to lose their calm when they are faced with many structural problems. I aim to help these people know more about structural problems, their source and easy solutions to these problems, so that people won't have to be blind when repairing their structures.

Title: Structural Problems and Its Solutions

1
Structural Protection
  • Various Structural Issues and Its Solutions

2
What Is Structural Protection
  • Structural protection involves condition
assessments and investigating material testing as
well as costings for structural repair works.
  • This involves the application of structural
strengthening using Carbon fibres. These carbon
fibres are reinforced polymers with latest
    technologies.
  • Structural Protection also involves
    investigations and condition surveys i.e.
    material testing.
  • Structural Protection also includes
  • Concrete Repairs
  • Protective Coatings, Waterproofing and flooring
  • Grouting
  • Leak Sealing
  • And various other applications.

3
Water Leakage Through Cracks and Joints or
Penetration through the concrete
Here are some structural problems and their
solutions
  • Water Leakage Problems through cracks and joints
is one of the common problem in structural
    buildings.
  • Solutions to these problems are
  • Injecting Hydrophobic and aqua reactive acrylic
    and polyurethane resins.
  • Use of unique sealants. These sealants are
capable of being applied and bonded underwater

4
External Roof Membranes Allowing Water Ingress
and results in Extensive Damage and Costly Repair
Bills
  • Sheet and Liquid Applied Membrane Systems
  • These membrane systems are capable of
withstanding the heaviest of downpours, UV
    degradation and strong winds

5
Internal Roof Membranes and Lining Systems Due to
head pressure, moisture drive or osmatic
blistering
  • Sheet and Liquid Applied Membrane Systems
  • These membrane systems are capable of
withstanding the heaviest of downpours, UV
    degradation and strong winds
  • Use of Deep Penetrating (90mm) waterproof
    sealers.
  • These sealers prevents moisture and vapour drive

6
The Onset of ASR/Aar (Alkali-Silica
Reaction)/(Alkali-Aggregate Reactions)
  • Use of deep penetrating waterproof sealers.
  • These waterproof sealers greatly reduce water and
    vapour drive
  • It also extracts fluid contaminants our of the
    concrete.

7
Spalling Concrete caused due to Freeze Thaw
Cycling
  • Proper Use of Surface and penetration sealers
  • These penetrating sealers are used for prevention
    and concrete repairs for remediation

8
Landslip Due to heavy Saturated Soil
  • Ground Stabilisation
  • Utilisation of range of Techniques and Materials
  • These Materials include hydrophobic polyurethane
    ground and rock anchors.

9
Stain on Structures Due to Increased Loads and
structural deficiency
  • Application of Fibre Reinforced polymers in
    sheet, rod or plate form.
  • These provides significant benefit over
    strengthening using steel.

10
Concrete Failure Due to Corrosion of
Reinforcement Bar
  • Reapplication of Protective Coating to Rebar
  • Application of concrete breakout around
    reinforcing bar.
  • Mechanical Removal of Dust.
  • Reinstatement of Concrete using resin based
    Mortar.

11
Carbonation Caused From reaction of Calcium
Carbonate in Concrete
  • Application of Specialised Anti-Carbonation
    Coatings.
  • These Coatings fill surface pores and bridge fine
    cracks.
  • It also form a barrier to the movement and
    ingress of Carbon Dioxide.

12
Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) Attack
13
Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) Attack Above Water line in
Sewerage System Structures
  • Application of Epoxy and polymer modified
    cementitious coatings on damp surfaces.
  • Application of Epoxy coatings on Dry Substrates.
  • These coatings are highly chemically resistant to
sulphide and other forms of chemical attack.
