• Vedanthangal, a 74-acre cosseted region is a
  house to more than 40000 birds migrating from
  various parts of the world and is one of the
  oldest water bird sanctuaries in the country that
  is still adored by many.
• It is located in the Kancheepuram district of
  Tamil Nadu, about 75 km from Chennai that would

  hunting spot for the Britishers in the early 18th

  against it and it was then the government amended
  an act for its preservation.

  side of the Vedanthangal lake supplies water to
  the agricultural land with its west and south
  side bounded by long bands.
• The lake receives water from four small canals
  and is positioned 122m above the sea level.
