Enjoy Londons Free Live Theatre Productions
  • Presidential Marylebone Mayfair

2
  • If youre in London and staying in one of
the serviced apartments Marylebone, its a must
that you experience and enjoy free live theatre.
  • London is celebrated for its classic plays, hit
musicals, and modern theatres. The best thing
about it is that you dont always have to spend a
fat slice of your budget to enjoy live theatre in
London. If you know where to look for it, you can
enjoy free live theatre presented by incredibly
    talented artistic communities in London.
  • Consider the following

3
Gods and Monsters Theatre
  • In summer, you can drop by The Scoop at Queens
Walk for your fill of free open-air live theatre
performances ranging from Greek classics to
    contemporary musicals.
  • The crowds dont seem to mind wind or rain as
they watch first-rate live theatre by the Gods
and Monsters Theatre Company. These shows are
usually directed by the talented Phil Wilmott and
produced by the very capable Suzanna Rosenthal.

4
Chain Reaction Theatre
  • The Chain Reaction Theatre conducts free theatre
for the youth every Tuesday evening. The company
makes it their mission to inspire, motivate, and
educate students by holding original live theatre
for free in their quarters at Three Mill Lane in
the early evening. They also conduct workshops
for free to encourage locals to be part of the
    lively youth theatre community.

5
Woodhouse Players
  • The Woodhouse Players of East London is an
amateur theatre community with about 40 members.
Their repertoire includes Black Comedy by Peter
    Shaffer, Goodnight Desdemona by Ann-Marie
MacDonald, and Fear and Misery of the Third
    Reich by Brecht.
  • They run rehearsal readings for free. They also
have Play Reading Pub Nights where anyone can
drop in to watch play readings or even share a
play they have written. These readings are
usually held at the Welsh Church Hall.

6
Exit Theatre
  • The Exit Theatre is a community theatre made up
of volunteer members who regularly put up
original productions that people can watch for
free. They finance their productions through
fundraisers, support from various sponsors, ad
    sales in YouTube, and grants.
  •
  • Past productions include Rope by Alfred
Hitchcock and Ring for Jeeves by P.G.
Wodehouse. The group usually performs at The
    Braithwaite and the Green Dragon.

7
Festival of New Theatre
  • Prompted by the vibrant theater scene in Croydon
London, the Arts Council England deemed it fit to
fund the Festival of New Theatre. The festival
    supports experimental and contemporary local
theatre. It also encourages the use of
    local/national issues as themes.
  • While you have to pay to watch some of the
    productions, other shows are free.

8
  • Aside from shopping, dining, and sightseeing,
one of the must-dos whenever you happen to be in
London is to enjoy live theatre for free.
    Watching creative productions without shelling
out a cent is just one of the many perks of
staying in serviced apartments Central London.
