The iconic Gullfoss waterfall, or "Golden
Waterfall", is only a seven-minute drive from
Geysir in the Hvítá glacier. Unique is its
elegant and majestic form, in which the water of
the rushing river falls in two steps into a 32
meter deep ravine.

The Þingvellir National Park is a place full of
history, not only because of its location on the
border between the North American continental
plate and the Eurasian continental plate, but
also as the meeting place of the Icelandic
Parliament since 930. Þingvellir tells stories of
geographical and political efforts, compromises
and ongoing evolution. 2004 Þingvellir was added
for its cultural value in the list of UNESCO
World Heritage.
