Title: Elmo086 Games Overview Review of Destiny
1Elmo086 Games Overview Review of Destiny
It was back in 2010 that Bungie games developers
released their franchise block busting game that
was and is HaloReach. And it's obvious they was
working very hard when they released the awesome
project that is was and is Destiny. And Bungie
made the right decision when they teamed up with
Activision seeing as they already have many top
game franchises in their history. And as you can
imagine, that will mean there's going to be
another Decade of Destiny gaming going on, at
least for now. And from an avid game player, it
can be said with some confidence that although
it works, it could still do with some
polishing! Destiny can be a little confusing to
understand from the get go. At first impressions
it looks like an open world shared shooting
game. But actually, Destiny is a mix of both
shooting game and MMO as well. Some games it can
be compared to include WOW, Halo, Diablo and COD.
Although Borderlands is probably the most
closest to it. Sometimes you'll be shooting,
other times you'll be looting! On the first time
you start up Destiny, you'll be looking at a
slightly confusing scene that takes place on
Mars. Once the video has finished you'll then be
able to choose and create your own character. But
customization isn't the most in-depth
customization and a little bewildering. Destiny
doesn't have a lot of depth to it on this front
unlike some other RPG's do. And you'll notice how
un-unique you really are once you take your
helmet off in the The Tower location. There's a
bit more room to wiggle though when it comes to
the classes your character has. You will
actually have 3 different classes to choose from
which are either the Swift Hunter, the Explosive
Warlock or the Titan which is basically a tank on
legs. There are 2 different levelling up trees
and even when you get to the maximum level of 20
you'll still find you have more unlocking to do
in the options tree. Although that said, there
isn't any class trees that you really must have
and as of right now it's more about choice and
preference of the player. A lot of people even
say the classes are very much the same all round
in that they all have powerful glass cannons each
to their own way. That isn't a bad thing though
when you're not forced into choosing either one
of them and a mix of MMO and Tanks and Healers
too. Each character does a good deal of damage
and each have their own unique explosions
also. But when you're not flexing your
characters abilities to the max, you'll mainly be
shooting your gun at enemies. And a lot of
shooting you'll be doing too. Whether it's taking
out the NRA or just shooting at anything that
moves. But despite this, Destiny is a great RPG
even if shoot em up fans are a bit annoyed when
their head shots don't quickly kill the enemy.
But that's what makes Destiny a lot of fun to
play in its own right. Bringing down the boss at
the end of a strike is a feel-good feeling that
will be awarded only to those that do. So if
you've ever enjoyed playing Halo then you're
going to feel right at home in Destiny. Sure,
some enemies can take a long time to kill, but
you're guaranteed a good time fight in taking
them down! Though for as much fun as the game
can be, it can also get quite repetitive too when
you're going
2from room to room. And getting your ghost
companion to unlock those doors when enemies are
sent in first. But like I said, the gameplay of
shooting is good fun even if some of the missions
are abysmal and don't do the game any favours
overall. That doesn't exclude the very good 3
manned strikes and that 6 player raid in The
Vault of Glass. If I had only one wish I could
have granted it would that there was much more
of this type of gameplay. Because many of the
bosses you'll take on all feel almost identical
and about the same to kill which really lets it
down. Destiny Campaign Well despite all these
negatives about the game, the multiplayer part of
Destiny that's called the Crucible does play and
work really well. Bungie have made a lot of maps
and different vehicles you can get around in.
Although there wasn't any kind of private lobbies
that you could first explore the maps in. It
would be nice to have a fight to the death in
private lobbies in that usual Deathmatch style.
And some of these game modes were also missing in
multiplayer mode also which is depressing. I
used to love playing those big-team death match
games in Halo but as of yet I'll need to wait
for the weekend to play those. That's also quite
lame and depressing. I saw in the Beta that Iron
Banner will be holding a special event. That's a
great game mode simply because the gear and
level you have and are at will make all the
difference on how much damage you can
do. Destiny Storyline Now to Destiny' story.
This is the elephant in the room. I remember when
I first saw Destiny being teased in 2013 at E3.
And it seemed like a deep and interesting story.
However after actually playing it for myself
it's less than deep and interesting. More like
diluted and weak and a bit boring. After you
complete the first mission, you'll soon realize
that none of the questions you have are actually
being answered to you. Sure, we wasn't looking to
find completely revealing story lines, but when
nothing is solved or answered in 12 hours of play
you're left feeling completely miffed. You wont
even really know who it is you're shooting at and
even why the darkness is so crucial or who the
Traveller is! You can find out some insight into
the storyline of Destiny on the bungie.net site
or even from within the Destiny App or with
Grimoir cards but even these only offer teases. I
shouldn't need to consult an app or the game
makers website to find out more about the story
line when I am playing it! The Destiny
Overview This isn't a flat out MMO game but
Destiny sure is influenced by other MMO's in its
class. Although updates are frequent that do
improve the game from both a campaign and
multiplayer point of view. Sure, Destiny isn't
free of big problems that frustrate in some
areas, but even though that much is true,
Destiny is still a very fun and very long lasting
game to play. And with many DLC's due to be
released by Bungie, you can bet on your helmet
you'll be kept busy and entertained for a while
at least until the sequel is released. If they
just make some small changes to the game it
could well be the game I (and many others) want
it to be. But we'll just have to wait a bit
longer for that! Elmo086 Games If you like
