Title: Burgundy & Pinot Noir Wine
1Burgundy Pinot Noir Wine
2From the greatest estates on earth to small
artisan producers whos wines provide excellent
value for money, these wines are painfully low in
volume and demand far exceeds supply. These wines
are rare hard to source, and in great demand
globally - the reason we chose the name Rare
Wine.

8Comte Armand Pommard Clos des Epeneaux 2005
Like the 2006, this is presently brooding and
even more backward with only grudging and very
ripe notes of plum, spice and earth in evidence
where the earthy character can also be found on
the textured, velvety and mouth coating
full-bodied flavors blessed by superb depth of
material and so much dry extract that the finish
is borderline chewy but not at all aggressive. A
serious wine that will need at least 15 and
probably 20 years to really be at its best but
when it arrives, it should more than repay the
wait.
9Comte de Vogue Musigny 2006
10Deep, bright red. Offers an extra dimension on
the nose, with captivating sappy red fruits,
minerals, blood orange, clove, menthol and bitter
chocolate. Enters the mouth thick and opulent,
then wonderfully dense and seamless in the
middle, with compelling sweetness and piquant
minerality. The back half of the wine shows the
powerful, structured side of the vintage,
finishing with major tannins and an impression of
brooding energy. This may well merit a higher
score with a decade or so of bottle ageing. 95
points, Stephen Tanzer Vinous
11Genot-Boulanger Clos de Vougeot 2010
12Power and grace combine with enormous character
in this Grand Cru Burgundy. Located in the
southeastern block of the largest single vineyard
in the Côte de Nuits entitled to Grand Cru
status, the soil is dense, providing for intense
structure. Rustic raspberry and red cherry aromas
evolve toward stewed red fruit qualities with
earthy notes. Fabulous wine from a fabulous
vintage.
13Mommessin Clos de Tart 2002
14 Bright red-ruby. Highly nuanced, expressive nose
combines strawberry, raspberry, minerals,
lavender, chocolate, underbrush and fennel. Super
concentrated, silky and sweet in the mouth but
with superb definition and energy. The wines
sheer density of material completely buffers its
14 alcohol. Finishes dry and classic, with
explosive rising fruit and terrific thrust. The
tannins are buried in fruit and soil tones. A
great Burgundy. (3/2005) 95 points Stephen
