Option A - Use an old nylon toothbrush and rags
with solvent, such as mineral spirits or
non-chlorinated brake cleaner, to clean off the
oil. The knives are sharp, be careful not to cut
yourself.
Option B - Using the supplied T-25 T-handle Tore
tool, carefully remove the cutter tips or knives.
Again, be EXTREMELY CAREFUL when handling the
knives or cutter tips as they are VERY SHARP!!!
Separate the knives/tips from the screws and
place in separate containers with a bit of
solvent.

Conclusion
After wiping off the head, wipe down any other
crevices, rollers, or any other places where oil
is visible. The object is to remove the grease
before the planer is put into use. Use a
sacrificial board after cleaning to test for
remaining grease. If oil is still apparent,
repeat whichever method you used above.
