Program?Florida Vocational Institutes Medical
Assistant program is designed to offer students a
clear understanding of medical career skills,
both clinical and administrative, which will
prepare them for employment in the allied health
field. Visualize training under the guidance of a
physician or practitioner, learning how to take
vital signs, take x-rays, electrocardiograms,
remove stitches, and perform basic lab work like
urinalysis and hematology testing. You will
learn everything from medical terminology to the
structure and function of the human body, its
chemical processes, and the pathology of
diseases. You will also learn how to handle the
administrative duties of medical office
management including reception, record
management, insurance billing, and scheduling
appointments. As a medical assistant, your job
is to assist the physician in many ways, which
usually includes recording patients medical
history, explaining medications, sanitizing
instruments, and restocking medical supplies.
You are also usually the first one to see the
patient and prep them before they see the doctor.

physician or practitioner, learning how to take

provide home healthcare needs. You will learn
everything from how to change patients bandages
and perform EKGs to understanding Alzheimers
disease and restorative care. As a patient care
technician, you work under the supervision of a
physician or nursing staff and are fully focused
on caring for a patient, monitoring a patients
condition, and reporting any findings. Your job
will usually include everything from collecting
bodily fluids for testing, phlebotomy, sanitizing
a patients room to feeding your patient and
brushing their teeth. Our program prepares you
to handle all these aspects of patient care
confidently.

PHLEBOTOMY TECHNICIAN PROGRAM QA What exactly

Program? Florida Vocational Institutes
Phlebotomy Technician program is designed to
offer students the training and clear
understanding of phlebotomy. Students will learn
how to perform duties such as drawing blood,
storing blood and blood components, venipuncture,
and basic processing. Students will also learn
the pathology of diseases as well as the
circulatory system, infection control, and OSHA

Vocational Institutes Nursing Assistant/Home
Health Aide program is designed to offer students
a clear understanding of all aspects of long term
patient care under the supervision of a
Registered Nurse. You will learn everything from
geriatric and rehabilitative care to how to
perform CPR on patients. As a nursing
assistant/home health aide, your job is to
provide patients with bedside care, assist in
activities of daily living, and monitor a
patients overall health. You will practice
patient bathing techniques, grooming, and feeding
your patients as well as cleaning their homes in
order to keep a sanitary, healthy environment.
